For 36 years, Hospice SLO County's Light Up A Life season has offered special ceremonies at locations throughout San Luis Obispo County for remembrance of loved ones who are no longer present but certainly not forgotten. The lantern symbolizes light as we are guided through life's darker times and illumination of love and remembrance.

For a $20 donation or more, your loved one's name will be read at one of the Remembrance Ceremonies listed below. You can choose to have a name read "in memory" or "in honor" and that preference will be noted during the ceremony.

We had planned to gather at each prearranged Light Up A Life memorial site during the week of December 7 - 11, 2020. Unfortunately, the coronavirus had a different plan.

This year we will live-stream one Light Up A Life Ceremony and one "Paws to Remember" Pet Ceremony from our downtown SLO historic house directly into your home.

  • Monday, Dec. 7, 2020 6-7 PM "Light Up A Life" Ceremony
  • Friday, Dec. 11, 2020 6-7 PM “Paws to Remember” Pet Ceremony

Live streaming instructions will be on our website (www.hospiceslo.org) soon.

You can watch the event live, or you can check back on our website and watch the recorded ceremony at a later date.
