Since 1984, Hospice SLO County’s Light up a Life ceremonies have been attended by thousands as a way to remember and honor their loved ones. This year remembering those who have died is critically important to our community and our collective mental and emotional health. Your sponsorship will give hundreds of people a precious opportunity to honor the lives of someone they have loved and lost. Your sponsorship will create meaningful healing.
Starting at 6 PM, each ceremony will include music, poetry, an inspirational message, and the reading of names. Candle lighting will take place immediately following each ceremony.

Ceremonies:

Tuesday, November 29, 2022 - San Luis Obispo Mission

Wednesday, November 30, 2022 - Arroyo Grande Heritage Square Park

Tuesday, December 6, 2022 - Atascadero Pavillion on the Lake

Tuesday, December 13, 2022 - Cayucos Community Church

For those who cannot attend, the ceremony will be professionally live-streamed and recorded at the November 29, 2022 ceremony taking place at the Mission in San Luis Obispo.

There will be a ceremony for remembering lost pets on Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at our office at 6PM.

Every donation received has a direct impact on our services. We are a non-medical hospice and DO NOT charge fees or bill insurance. Our only income comes from direct donations, sponsorships, grants, and bequests. Your generosity and support of Light Up A Life 2021 will support the training and supervision of volunteers who administer Hospice SLO County programs and services including in-home support, grief counseling, support groups, pet services, and care management. Death and dying touches each of us and the compassion and support offered by Hospice SLO County staff and volunteers at these times is immeasurable.
Please help us sustain our vital mission with your Sponsorship!
This has been a year like no other. Hospice SLO County, a small but mighty local non-profit, has helped thousands of people over the past 45 years. With your support Hospice SLO County will thrive for another 45 years. These are defining days, and it will be our honor to let the community know that you are our ally. Thank you!
